    Campers will learn basic computer animation skills using online animation programs. Campers will create their own digital puppet and animate it using multiple techniques and will then share their work on a webpage.

    Campers will learn more advanced computer animation skills such as backgrounds, special effects, and animating multiple characters using online animation programs. Campers will create their own digital puppet and animate it using multiple techniques. They will then share their work on a webpage.
  • Stop Motion Animation 1

    Ages: 9 - 13   
    June 29 – July 3
    Daily synchronous meet times: 9:00 am, 11:30 am, 2:15 pm

    Campers will learn basic stop motion animation skills such as setting up, photographing, and animating characters using online animation programs. 
  • Stop Motion Animation 2

    Ages: 9 – 13
    July 6 – July 10
    Daily synchronous meet times: 9:00 am, 11:30 am, 2:15 pm

    Campers will learn more advanced stop motion animation skills such as animating multiple characters of their choice, animating a face, and animating with a background using online animation programs. 
  • Creative Filmmaking for Beginners

    Ages: 10-18
    June 15 - June 26
    Daily synchronous meet times: 9:00 am, 11:30 am, 2:15 pm

    Have you ever wanted to make a movie? Let me rephrase... Have you ever wanted to make an awesome movie? This is the camp for you! Using any movie editing software that you own, campers will be guided through the moviemaking process from story/scriptwriting, storyboarding, sound effects, musical scores, basic editing techniques, camera angles, cinematography, and most of all, how to create an original creative movie that they will be proud of. Whether you have a general interest in creating movies or make your media-driven school project stand out above the rest, this camp is for you! In the two week time period, students will create one or more original movies to be shown at a Hawken Outdoor Film Festival. 

    * Campers will need some type of film editing software either on a computer or a phone. They will also need some form of camera/smartphone to do the filming. 
  • Creative Filmmaking for the Advanced

    Ages: 10 - 18
    June 15 - June 26
    Daily synchronous meet times: 10:15 am, 12:45 pm, 3:30 pm

    Have you made movies or feel that you have a strong grasp on film editing? Do you want to take your moviemaking thought processes to another level? This is the camp for you. You will learn all of the tips and tricks that go into making a story become something special on film. One of the hardest processes of filmmaking is to come up with an original idea. This creative camp will guide you through all aspects of film editing, story/scriptwriting, storyboarding, sound effects, musical scores, basic editing techniques, camera angles, cinematography, so that your movies will look professional and be of quality. In the two week time period, students will create one or more original movies to be shown at a Hawken Outdoor Film Festival.

  • Cityscapes

    Ages 11- 14
    July 13 – July 17

    Do you ever wonder what life would be like if you were in charge? Use the engineering design process to imagine, plan, create, improve, and communicate your own city scape! You will virtually learn how to use a 3D design software to create an original city. Use your creativity to design a city infrastructure, transportation, energy sources, and more! You will learn the basics of city infrastructure, city planning, and how vital earth's resources are for humans to live and have shelter.
