    During this week, children will enjoy a variety of well-known books and participate in correlating cooking activities. Incorporated into each day will be opportunities for crafts, drama, and of course, cooking! Each child will take home a cookbook of recipes and a celebratory lunch is included on Friday.

    Welcome to GUPPIE TANK — where creativity meets confidence! This fun, high-energy class invites young innovators to step into the role of inventors, creators, and budding entrepreneurs as they develop their very own product or business ideas. They’ll brainstorm, design, and pitch their concepts to a supportive panel of “sharks” (teachers, parents, or older students), inspired by the hit show Shark Tank.
    Through hands-on activities, students build teamwork, problem-solving, public speaking, and critical-thinking skills — all while having a blast bringing their big ideas to life. By the end of the session, each student or team will showcase their work in a mini pitch event, complete with visual boards, prototypes, or skits.

    Adventure awaits in the Forest! Join us for a week of outdoor exploration and adventure at Hawken School’s immersive summer camp, set in our beautiful forest! Campers will spend the week hiking, exploring the natural world, and discovering the wonders of nature. With the ever-changing landscape, every day offers something new. Led by experienced instructors, this camp emphasizes collaboration, environmental awareness, and personal growth in a fun, supportive environment. Give your child the opportunity to unplug, make lasting memories, and develop new skills!
  • AMERICAN GIRL DOLL CAMP

    Bring your favorite American Girl doll and accessories for a week full of arts and crafts, stories, games, parties, and adventure. We will have a tea party, beach party, and picnic lunches; make doll accessories; and learn about the historical doll Julie, who lives in San Francisco in the 1970s and is described as fun-loving, spirited, and full of inspiration despite the changes taking place in the world around her. We will design and build original doll houses using boxes and recycled materials. Don’t have an American Girl doll? Don’t worry; any doll will do!
  • ART IN NATURE

    Look out the window and find an expansive art palette waiting to be tapped into for unique and beautiful masterpieces. Campers will spend a wonderful week outdoors learning how to utilize the bounties of nature while creating unique works of art. All pieces will utilize materials collected or created in nature. Projects will include natural birdhouses, paintings using nature-based paints, leaf impression murals, and so much more. If you love art and being outdoors, you will have the week of your life, hiking, collecting, and creating.
  • CRAZY CONCOCTIONS: KITCHEN SCIENCE

  • ULTIMATE POKEMON EXPERIENCE

    The Pokémon craze takes on a new twist. In this one-of-a-kind camp, campers will use their imagination, learn strategic skills, participate in physical challenges, and learn all that is Pokémon. Instead of the virtual Pokémon Go, campers will engage in real-world Pokémon Go scavenger hunts as they search the Hawken campus for Pokeballs and toys. Campers will also learn the art of card trading to maximize card game play. Throughout the week, campers will earn Poke-cash that can be used in an end of the week Poke-auction for cards, toys, and other Poke-treasures.
  • MAKERSPACE INNOVATION CAMP

    Calling all designers, tinkerers, and creative campers! Makerspace Camp will allow students to explore their ideas, interests, and inventions using tools and techniques found in a digital fabrication lab (FabLab). Students will first learn the principles of creativity, design thinking, and rapid prototyping to begin to generate many ideas for new products and solutions important to them. We will then explore engineering and design techniques using computer-assisted design (CAD) software and fabrication equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC milling, and electronics, and build with hand and power tools. Makers will document their process throughout the week, which will culminate with a designer showcase for parents on our final afternoon. Learn how to capture your creativity and make anything in this fun and inventive week.
  • FOOD TRUCK CHALLENGE

    Food trucks are cruising all over the country delivering unexpected culinary delights. Don’t miss out on the challenge to design your very own truck and menu. During this week-long camp, campers will work in small teams to develop a theme and menu and ultimately prepare food to compete to be the next food truck champion. Along the way, there will be daily competitions, challenges, and games to earn points. Do you have what it takes to win it all?
  • SAILING CAMP

    Ages 11–15 | One Week | 9am–3pm | Drop-off at Hawken’s Lyndhurst Campus

    If you like being outside and on the water and want to learn about sailing, this camp is for you! You will learn important beginning boating fundamentals and water safety at the beautiful Mentor Harbor Yachting Club. Experience kayaks, small dinghy sailboats, large sailboats, and powerboats on Lake Erie and the protected Mentor Harbor. The week-long camp is run by experienced, certified, professional sailing instructors who will guarantee fun. No boating experience or ownership required. Simply bring your life jacket, sunscreen, and lunch. Hawken Summer Camp provides transportation to/from MHYC.
