Looking for a unique, interesting, and fun summer camp experience? Then look no further than Just Add Water’s Scuba Camp! Scuba Camp is a summer program that will introduce campers to the underwater world and teach them to scuba dive. Kids will have a blast learning to scuba dive and will leave this experience with new friends, wonderful life-long memories, and a skill they can use for the rest of their lives! Campers will have the opportunity to complete the classroom and pool training required to earn their scuba certification in a safe and enjoyable way. Your camper will learn about dive safety, scuba equipment, being a good dive buddy, the underwater world, aquatic life, and protecting the environment. 2020 is Just Add Water’s 22nd year of scuba camp. Hundreds of campers have come through the program, and it truly is a great way to learn to dive and get introduced to the underwater world. The 32,000 Piece Challenge
Ages 5 - 11

Calling all puzzle enthusiasts! Spend a week immersed in jigsaw puzzle bliss. Campers will work collaboratively to see if they can break the Guinness Book of World Records for fastest completion of a 32,000 piece puzzle. There will also be a plethora of other puzzles to work on throughout the week. How many pieces can the group assemble? In addition to jigsaw puzzles, campers will learn about and make slide puzzles, word puzzles, and so much more. Using the Hawken Innovation Lab, campers will have the opportunity to create a variety of puzzles to take home at the end of the week.
Ultimate Beyblade Tournaments Experience
Ages 5 - 11

Who knew that an “old school” toy like the top could make a comeback? The spinning tops (Beyblades) launch at high speeds in a plastic arena known as a Beystadium, with a slightly dished base, where they subsequently strike each other. The last top still spinning wins. Beyblade is largely a game of power and angle, although many players believe a particular launch style can influence the outcome of a game. Each day bring your Beyblades for spinning, battling, tournament fun. In addition to engaging in tournaments, campers will have the opportunity to design and build their own stadium and Beyblade designs. In Hawken’s new Innovation Lab, campers will use the latest technology to make unique Beyblade accessories.
Draft Day: Fantasy Football 101
Ages 9 - 13

Fall is right around the corner, and that means one thing: FOOTBALL season is approaching! This camp is for beginners, experts, and dynasty champions. Over the course of the week, campers will engage in preparing for the upcoming fantasy football season. Don’t go into your draft unprepared. Our experts will assist you in building your own draft “cheat sheet” customized to your league rules, identifying your top sleepers and bust, and developing an overall draft strategy. In addition to draft preparation, campers will enjoy a crash course in the history of fantasy football, watching highlights of some of the greatest fantasy seasons ever. Wait … there’s more. Campers will work in the Hawken Innovation Lab to create team logos and name plates. If you are ready to dominate your league in the 2019 season, this camp is for you.

Join us to find out how a simple board of 64 black and white squares, and 32 black and white pieces could help improve your concentration and patience, analytical and strategic thinking, creativity and imagination, confidence and resilience, and finally friendship and spirit! Three National Master and Candidate Masters, Scholastic State Champions, recipients of many trophies and cash prizes in local, state and national tournaments, and current/ former coaches of Hawken School Chess Club, Connor Keuchel ‘17, Brennen Keuchel ‘19, and Destynn Keuchel ‘22, assisted by their mom, Dr. Haleh Ayrom-Keuchel, will guide you through discovering the amazing game of chess! Students with any chess knowledge including beginners are welcome. Outdoor activities and having fun are promised!

All-Star sports camp is the perfect fit for the active child that just can’t get enough running, jumping, throwing, and kicking during the day. This skill and game-based camp offers your young athlete the perfect opportunity to learn and excel in a variety of sports in an exciting camp setting. New skills will be taught and old ones will be developed through carefully planned drills that are then practiced through age-appropriate competitions. Join veteran Hawken Day Camp counselors for an action-packed week of on the move sports fun.
The Basics of Fishing
Ages 9 – 13

Do you have a passion for the outdoors? If so, then this fishing camp is right for you! During the week, we will learn about rigging your own pole, different fishing techniques, conservation and preservation, and explore the different kinds of fish in Northeast Ohio as we travel to different locations in the area. With just a little luck, we hope to catch some monster fish! All campers are required to provide their own fishing pole and life jacket.
Ages 8 – 13

If you like being outside and on the water and want to learn about sailing, this camp is for you! You will learn important beginning boating fundamentals and water safety at the beautiful Mentor Harbor Yachting Club. Experience kayaks, small dinghy sailboats, large sailboats, and powerboats on Lake Erie and the protected Mentor Harbor. The week-long camp is run by experienced, certified, professional sailing instructors who will guarantee fun. No boating experience or ownership required. Simply bring your lifejacket, sunscreen, and lunch. Hawken Summer Camp provides transportation to/from MHYC.
