  • Get Grounded: Yoga and More

    Inhale, exhale, namaste. Calling all yogis! Yogis will enjoy daily stretching and breathing techniques, learn the basics of yoga, and practice their poses while enjoying music. Yogis will also experience yoga-based games and teamwork activities. This yoga course also includes mindfulness and meditation. In addition, campers will enjoy relaxing crafts and projects, including lavender eye pillows, Zen tangle, watercolors, and much more. This is perfect for students who enjoy stretching and movement. We will enjoy our practice both indoors and outdoors!

    Join us to find out how a simple board of 64 black and white squares and 32 black and white pieces could help improve your concentration and patience, analytical and strategic thinking, creativity and imagination, confidence and resilience, and finally, friendship and spirit! Students with any chess knowledge, including beginners, are welcome. Campers will spend a week engaged in games, tournaments, and challenges that will not only increase level of play but improve reasoning and logic. Outdoor activities and having fun are promised!

    All-Star Sports Camp is the perfect fit for the active child that just can’t get enough running, jumping, throwing, and kicking during the day. This skill- and game-based camp offers your young athlete the perfect opportunity to learn and excel in a variety of sports in an exciting camp setting. New skills will be taught, and old ones will be developed through carefully-planned drills that are then practiced through age-appropriate competitions. Join veteran Hawken Day Camp counselors for an action-packed week of on-the-move sports fun.
  • Sailing Camp

    If you like being outside and on the water and want to learn about sailing, this camp is for you! You will learn important beginning boating fundamentals and water safety at the beautiful Mentor Harbor Yachting Club. Experience kayaks, small dinghy sailboats, large sailboats, and powerboats on Lake Erie and the protected Mentor Harbor. The week-long camp is run by experienced, certified, professional sailing instructors who will guarantee fun. No boating experience or ownership required. Simply bring your life jacket, sunscreen, and lunch. Hawken Summer Camp provides transportation to/from MHYC.
