  • SAT/ACT Prep Course, Reading / Writing

    The SAT/ACT preparation course will focus on test-taking strategies designed to help students maximize their scores on these important college entrance exams. During the course, students will examine the reading and writing (English) sections of the test and learn how to apply proven strategies to achieve their target score on the test. As the test format and content are demystified, students will be empowered with personalized study techniques to help them continue their preparation after the course concludes so they can successfully tackle the formal national exams. Students will be expected to complete practice exercises each night and will have access to additional authentic practice materials following the completion of the course. Students interested in taking the ACT will be given an optional science tutorial to help them prepare for this unique section. The class prepares students for the new digital format and is designed to accommodate individual needs, which includes flexible pacing, technology integration, collaboration and peer learning, and continuous feedback.

During the course, students will examine the math portion of the tests and learn how to apply proven strategies to achieve their target score on the ACT and/or SAT. As the test format and content are demystified, students will be empowered with personalized study techniques to help them continue their preparation after the course concludes so they can successfully tackle these complex exams. Students will be given optional practice sections to complete each night and will have access to additional authentic practice materials following the completion of the course. The class prepares students for the new digital format and is designed to accommodate individual needs, which includes flexible pacing, technology integration, collaboration and peer learning, and continuous feedback.
