Have you ever wondered how you would fare in a zombie movie? Here’s your chance to (safely) find out! Humans vs. Zombies Jr. is inspired by a tag game that originated in Goucher College in 2005. Since then, it has spread like a virus through schools, libraries, and neighborhoods worldwide. After developing their unique character, campers will have to use their brains and bodies (armed with foam dart blasters, marshmallow launchers, and/or socks) to avoid infection in this campus-wide, week-long game. But don’t worry! The only symptom of the virus is a bandana worn around your head, and the game doesn’t end if you get turned! During this whirlwind week of adventure, campers will learn to strategize, problem solve, and work as a team as well as engage in physical challenges all around campus. Join us at HVZ Jr. for some truly supernatural fun!
  • Star Wars and Mythology: A Journey to Do, Not Try

    Ages 10 - 14
    August 1 – August 5
    9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
     Lyndhurst Campus
    $400

Star Wars can be seen as a story of humanity involving many of the same things we all face in our lives (triumphs, heroic moments, sacrifice, loss, betrayal, sacrifice, and many of the trials we face).

When you think of mythology you may think of Zeus, Hercules, Prometheus, and not necessarily Luke Skywalker or the Mandalorian. Myths tell the story of heroes who are presented with quests and who in turn must overcome obstacles to fulfill their destiny. The original movies of Star Wars and a series like the Mandalorian presents us with modern myths. Luke Skywalker is an unexpected hero who ends up destroying an evil Empire at great personal costs in his own journey.

Our Passport camp will help our campers better understand the common themes of mythology and how they are expressed in the Star Wars universe. Each day every camper will reflect on how their own hero that they have created would have faced the same journeys presented in the Star Wars universe. They will come away with their own personally created character, myth related art piece, and personally constructed lightsaber symbolizing their own personal journey during the week.
