  • Pre-Algebra and Algebra Skill Builder

    June 10 – June 28 (3 weeks)
    8:30 am - 9:45 am
    $450

    This course serves students who have recently finished a Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1 course and will benefit from enriching their mathematical knowledge. Students will engage in mathematics that is foundational to success in their future coursework. Through collective inquiry, rigorous practice, and frequent individualized feedback, students will increase their facility with key topics. Pre-Algebra topics include number sense; rational numbers (fractions and decimals) and their arithmetic; ratio and proportion; modeling with and manipulating algebraic expressions and equations; and linear relationships. Algebra 1 topics include modeling with linear, quadratic, and exponential functions; solutions of equations, inequalities, and systems of equations; and obtaining equivalent forms of algebraic expressions (e.g., by factoring or completing the square). Individual students will have the opportunity to focus on those concepts and skills that most need enrichment.
  • Humanities Skill Builder

    June 10 – June 28 (3 weeks)
    10:00 am - 11:15 am
    $450

    Students will gain intensive practice and enrichment of reading and writing skills to set them up for success in the Upper School and beyond. They will practice targeted strategies for approaching and responding to the reading of different kinds of texts. They will also work on strategies for approaching the writing process, including organization and pre-writing. Where applicable, reading and writing instruction will also facilitate the building of executive function skills to support academic progress.
